"And what are you...A SHEEP?" --Mushu from Disney's Mulan

Happy start Chinese New Year yesterday!  Alright so I am FHE mommy and with that comes a lot of planning activities!  I also returned from a mission in Taiwan five months ago yesterday as well.  So being FHE mommy I wanted a little bit of culture. Yesterday, the 23rd was a wonderful day and the start of Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year.  Now that I reflect back on our FHE evening, without media our evening would have been incomplete.

We first learned out to make paper cranes using YouTube.  Thank goodness youtube is apart of my life.  So pull up a chair, get out a piece of paper and make one yourself!

After we watched this video we were still having difficulties and continues to try and make cranes while we watched Disney's beloved Mulan.  It is a rather clever film, filmed in 1998 starring Ming-Na, Eddie Murphy, Miguel Ferrer and B. D. Wong. It's got great music, culture, and an adorable cricket that I hope to have as a pet one day.

Disney movies never get old, especially this one.  Please, if you have not seen this movie yet, it should be the next one on your list.
