The reality of Facebook

How many of you go on facebook and the first place your eye lingers to are the three little symbols in the upper left hand corner?   We have our dear *friend requests, * messages, *and notifications.  You never know what those little red numbers mean....perhaps it's that boy in your English class or girl in Chinese class that you've been hoping would finally take interest in you.

I am pretty sure that those three little symbols release endorphins...it means, "oh someone thought about me!" or "someone has something to say to me!"  You could have won a million dollars, someone perhaps has a great story, joke, or youtube video to share with you.  All is possible when you see those red dots with numbers in them appear on your screen.

I liked this facebook picture and feel it tells the truth. :)

What're your thoughts? What do you think when you see those numbers get high when you open facebook?

  1. haha i love your post. i agree that is the first place my eyes go, just in case my "person of interest" has realized i finally exist! and i love to see that people like my pictures etc etc. but at the same time i have to say that i never really feel like its real or sincere. i mean dont get me wrong i like those three little symbols but only when they are followed by real life action. i would much rather have my personal of interest talk to me face to face, or have someone tell me they like my hair on the day i did it. you know... so yes i love them, but i dont think they really ever mean the same as a sincere interaction. but yay for facebook it sometimes provides opportunity for such meetings to occur ;)
